Dallas Borough Council announces the following roads will be marked as one way directional for traffic on July 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th in the best interest of public safety in association with the 71st Annual Back Mountain Memorial Library Auction:

· Franklin Street – One Way directional traffic from Huntsville Road toward Main Street.

· Lehman Avenue – One Way directional traffic from Machell Avenue toward Huntsville Road.

· Norton Avenue – One Way directional traffic from Huntsville Road to Machell Avenue.

Traffic Enforcement Notice

Commencing Monday, May 15, 2017, Machell Avenue will be closed to through traffic near the intersection of Monroe Avenue to S.R. 415 / Memorial Highway due to road construction for the next several weeks.

Mayor Timothy J. Carroll and Police Chief James Drury announce there will be increased police traffic enforcement on residential roadways due to detouring traffic.

Please respect our residential neighborhoods by obeying speed limits and traffic signs.

2017 Yard Waste Curbside Recycling Schedule and Regulations

The Dallas Borough Road Department will begin weekly curbside yard waste collection beginning the week of May 8, 2017, weather permitting The weekly collection schedule will begin following the conclusion of the Dallas Borough Spring Cleanup scheduled for the week of May 1-6, 2017 Residents are asked not to place yard waste recycling containers curbside prior to the beginning of the collection season.

As in previous years the Borough Road Department will collect up to the equivalent of two 25 gallon recycling containers weekly throughout the season.  Residents are to have yard waste containers curbside by Monday morning for collection.  Yard waste volumes exceeding the two 25 gallon container limit will not be collected. Yard waste containing or including rocks, road cinders, ashes or animal waste will not be collected. In the interest of public safety, residents are reminded not to place containers or bundled yard waste within the road right of way.

There is a $25 annual permit required for residents to participate in the curbside yard waste collection program. Residents may stop in the Dallas Borough Building during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm to obtain the required permit.

Property owners with a larger volume of yard waste are asked to make arrangements with a private hauler and/or to contact the Dallas Area Municipal Authority at 570-696-1133 for the hours of operation for the yard waste drop off site on S.R. 118.
